EXPERT WOOD BURNING STOVE INSTALLATIONS ACCROSS THE ISLE OF WIGHT
A Family run business providing bespoke services installing wood & multifuel stoves, hearths, flue liners & insulated twin wall flue systems by our HETAS registered engineer with a guaranteed aftercare service.

A beautifully installed wood-burning stove brings you warmth, comfort and character, reigniting the heart in your home. Professionally fitted with full attention to safety, ventilation and finish, our installations deliver efficient heating and provide an independent heat source that doesn’t rely on the grid. We can offer a bespoke colour matching service, giving you the freedom to choose any colour for your stove from the Calfire range.
Multifuel stoves are also availble.

Our installations use high-grade stainless steel flexible flue liners, fitted to ensure safe, efficient operation of the appliance with optimal flue performance. Correctly sized and installed to meet current regulations, the liner improves draw, reduces condensation and tar build up and enhances overall system reliability. Manufactured to exacting standards, the liner is backed by factory warranty, providing long-term peace of mind and a durable, corrosion-resistant solution for wood and multifuel stoves.

We install a wide range of bespoke hearths tailored to each individual installation in various materials including Brazilian riven slate, natural stone and toughened glass options. Glass hearths are available in clear, smoked or black finishes and shapes to suit the appliance and interior setting. Every hearth is precisely measured, cut and fitted to ensure full compliance, durability with a refined finish that complements the overall installation.

No chimney? No problem! Where no chimney is present, an insulated twin wall flue system provides a safe, efficient solution for venting wood and multifuel stoves. Professionally designed and installed to current regulations, the system maintains optimal flue temperatures for reliable draw, reduced condensation and consistent performance. Available in a range of finishes- including stainless steel, powder-coated black, pink, yellow or a luxurious copper. We can also colour match the internal flue to the same colour as the stove.
Along with installing wood and multifuel stoves, hearths, flue liners and insulated twin wall flue systems we also carry out complete fireplace re-modelling and design. Whether it be making alterations to establish the original fire opening appropriate to the period of your property or building you a brand new chimney breast and fire opening.
Wooden mantles are a popular design feature that add warmth and character to any space. We can supply and install your chosen mantle to provide the perfect finishing touch to your new installation.
We also provide stove servicing, refurbs and repairs, supplying genuine or bespoke spare parts when your stove starts to show signs of wear and tear.
We can also provide a chimney sweep service to keep your flues clear and in good working order. We would recommend a twice yearly sweep to maintain your flue warranty.

Frequently asked questions about wood-burning stoves, regulations and eco-friendly heating.
Are wood-burning stoves being banned?
No, Wood-burning stoves are not being banned. Current regulations focus on reducing smoke and particulate emissions from older, inefficient appliances and the burning of in appropriate fuels. Modern Ecodesign/Eco-ready stoves that meet current emissions standards are fully legal to install and use across the UK. The aim of the legislation is to improve air quality- not to prevent homeowners from enjoying a stove.
What is DEFRA and why does it matter?
DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs) is the UK government body responsible for air quality regulations. DEFRA approves certain stoves as DEFRA-exempt (smoke-exempt). These stoves are designed to burn fuel so cleanly that they are permitted for use in Smoke Control Areas.
What is a Smoke Control Area (smoke-free zone)?
Many towns and cities are designated as Smoke Control Areas. If you live in one of these you must use a DEFRA-approved stove and authorised smokeless fuels or properly seasoned wood. This allows you to legally enjoy a real fire while remaining fully compliant with regulations. It is worth noting that at present, the Isle of Wight does not have any designated Smoke Control Areas.
What is an Eco-ready/ Ecodesign stove?
Ecodesign stoves are modern appliances built to meet strict emissions and efficiency standards introduced in 2022. They feature clean burn technology, secondary combustion systems, much higher efficiency, significantly reduced particulate emissions compared to open fires and reduce fuel consumption. These stoves are specifically designed to minimise environmental impact while maximising heat output.
What is particulate matter and why is it important?
Particulate Matter (PM) refers to tiny particles released into the air during combustion. Older stoves and open fires produce high levels of PM. Modern Ecodesign stoves, when used with the correct fuel, reduce these emissions dramatically, making them a far more environmentally respsonsible choice for home heating.
Can I burn wood in my stove?
Yes- if it is the right wood. You must only burn DRY, seasoned wood with a moisture content of 20% or less. Wet or unseasoned wood creates excess smoke, tar build-up and pollution, and can damage your stove and chimney flue. We recommend storing logs in a dry log store with good airflow to keep them properly seasoned.
What are sustainable fuels I can use?
In addition to dry logs, many modern stoves can burn sustainable, low-emission fuels such as Wood chip logs/heat logs, Olive stone briquettes, Coffee ground eco-logs and approved smokeless fuels. These fuels are made from recycled natural materials and burn very cleanly with high heat output.
How do I keep my stove burning cleanly and efficiently?
Proper stove maintenance is essential. Regular chimney sweeping (at least once a year, some flue manufacturers require twice a year). Empty ash regularly, keep air vents clean, use only approved dry fuels and have the stove serviced as recommended by the manufacturer. A well maintained stove burns hotter, cleaner and more efficiently.
Is a wood-burning stove environmentally friendly?
When used correctly, yes. By installing an Eco-ready, DEFRA-approved stove and burning dry or sustainable fuel, you are using a renewable heat source, a carbon-neutral fuel cycle (wood), a highly efficient heating method and a low-emission appliance designed for modern air quality standards. This allows you to heat your home effectively without worrying about environmental impact.
Can I still enjoy a real fire in my home?
Absolutely. Modern stove technology means you can enjoy the warmth and atmosphere of a real fire while being fully compliant with UK regulations and mindful of the environment.
